Couldn't load pickup availability
Bold, architectural and refreshingly independent, the Spineless Yucca is made for spaces that need a proper hit of greenery without adding a particularly demanding resident.
Sturdy woody canes are topped with fountains of long, sword-shaped green leaves, creating a striking silhouette that becomes increasingly impressive as the plant matures. It's particularly good for adding height to bright rooms and filling those awkward spaces that need something substantial.
Yuccas love good light and aren't keen on wet feet. Give yours a bright position, let the growing medium dry well between drinks and resist the temptation to fuss over it. This is one houseplant that's perfectly happy with a little benign neglect.

OUR THOUGHTS
Some empty corners need more than another little pot on a shelf. Yucca brings height, structure and a slightly prehistoric-looking crown of leaves without demanding a complicated care routine in return. Give it sunshine and don't drown it. That's a relationship we can work with.
GROW WITH CONFIDENCE
Looking After Your Plant
Watering
Allow a good portion of the growing medium to dry before watering thoroughly, then let all excess water drain freely. Yucca is drought tolerant and much more vulnerable to consistently wet roots than an occasional missed watering. Reduce watering significantly during cooler, darker months.
Light
Yucca loves light. A position with plenty of bright light is ideal, and established plants can tolerate several hours of direct sunlight when properly acclimatised. Although it can survive in somewhat lower light, growth may become weaker and more stretched, so this isn't one we'd choose for a genuinely dark corner.
Humidity & Temperature
Normal household humidity suits Yucca perfectly well. It doesn't require high humidity and generally prefers good airflow rather than warm, permanently damp conditions. Keep it away from prolonged cold draughts.
Feeding
Feed with a balanced houseplant fertiliser around once a month during active growth in spring and summer, following the manufacturer's instructions. Reduce or stop feeding during autumn and winter when growth slows.
Repotting & Growth
Yucca is relatively slow-growing indoors but can eventually develop into a substantial floor plant. Repot when noticeably root-bound, moving up only slightly in pot size and using a free-draining growing mix. Larger plants can become top-heavy, so a sturdy pot can help keep everything stable.
Pet Safety
Yucca is not considered pet safe. It contains compounds called saponins which can cause gastrointestinal upset if eaten, particularly in dogs and cats. Keep it away from pets likely to chew the foliage and contact your vet for advice if you suspect ingestion.
A NOTE FROM US
The quickest way to annoy a Yucca is to love it too enthusiastically with the watering can. Give it loads of light, let that growing mix properly dry and then give it a good drink. If you're choosing between watering today or waiting a few more days, Yucca will usually vote for waiting.
