Tiny leaves, red stems and masses of trailing growth, Peperomia ‘Pepperspot’ proves a plant doesn't need enormous foliage to make an impact.
Its small, rounded green leaves grow along slender reddish stems, gradually creating a beautifully full cascade as the plant matures. Compact enough for smaller spaces but wonderfully effective once those stems begin to tumble, it's particularly lovely on shelves and in hanging planters.
Give it bright indirect light, an airy growing mix and some drying time between drinks and Pepperspot will happily get on with producing more of those tiny leaves.

OUR THOUGHTS
It's all about the tiny details. Little round green leaves sit along wonderfully fine red stems, and once the plant starts trailing you get this delicate curtain of green dotted with flashes of burgundy. It's particularly good for squeezing another plant onto a shelf you've already declared completely full.
GROW WITH CONFIDENCE
Looking After Your Plant
Watering
Allow the growing medium to partially dry before watering thoroughly, then let excess water drain freely. Its slightly fleshy foliage stores some moisture, so Pepperspot generally copes better with being a little too dry than sitting in permanently wet soil.
Light
Give Pepperspot plenty of bright, indirect light to encourage dense growth and maintain its attractive foliage and stem colour. It can tolerate somewhat softer light, although growth may become slower or more stretched. Avoid prolonged harsh direct sunlight.
Humidity & Temperature
Average household humidity is generally suitable for Pepperspot, although it appreciates medium humidity alongside good airflow. Keep it away from cold draughts and very hot, drying radiators.
Feeding
Feed lightly with a balanced houseplant fertiliser around once a month during active growth in spring and summer, following the manufacturer's instructions. Reduce or stop feeding during autumn and winter when growth slows.
Repotting & Growth
Pepperspot develops fine trailing stems that gradually spill over the edge of its pot. Its relatively small root system means frequent repotting isn't necessary. Wait until noticeably root-bound, then move up only slightly in pot size using a light, airy and well-draining growing mix. Longer stems can be trimmed to encourage fuller growth.
Pet Safety
Peperomia ‘Pepperspot’ is generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it a great option for pet-friendly homes. As with any houseplant, it's still sensible to discourage pets from chewing or pulling at the trailing stems.
A NOTE FROM US
Don't let those tiny leaves persuade you that this needs tiny drinks every five minutes. Pepperspot would much rather the growing mix partially dried between waterings. Give it good indirect light and somewhere those red stems have room to tumble.
