Dieffenbachia ‘Camilla’
Couldn't load pickup availability
Bright, leafy and wonderfully easy to enjoy, Dieffenbachia ‘Camilla’ produces broad tropical leaves with creamy pale centres framed by rich green margins.
Its bold foliage creates a beautifully full plant as it matures, bringing plenty of brightness to a room without needing flowers to make an impact. ‘Camilla’ is particularly lovely when you want something lush and tropical but don't have space for one of the true indoor giants.
Give it warmth, good indirect light and sensible watering and it'll happily get on with the business of growing more of those gorgeous leaves.

OUR THOUGHTS
Those leaves do most of the decorating for you. Creamy centres brighten the plant while deep green margins frame every leaf, creating loads of contrast without looking overly busy. As Camilla fills out, it becomes a proper little wall of tropical foliage.
GROW WITH CONFIDENCE
Looking After Your Plant
Watering
Allow the upper layer of the growing medium to begin drying before watering thoroughly, then allow excess water to drain freely. Avoid keeping the soil permanently wet or leaving the pot standing in water. Reduce watering slightly during cooler periods when growth slows.
Light
Bright, indirect light will help ‘Camilla’ maintain healthy growth and its beautiful creamy leaf centres. It can tolerate somewhat softer light, although growth may slow and the colouring may become less pronounced. Avoid prolonged harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the foliage.
Humidity & Temperature
Average household humidity is usually suitable, although ‘Camilla’ appreciates medium to higher humidity and warm, stable conditions. Keep it away from cold draughts, hot radiators and sudden temperature changes.
Feeding
Feed with a balanced houseplant fertiliser around once a month during active growth in spring and summer, following the manufacturer's instructions. Reduce feeding during autumn and winter when growth naturally slows.
Repotting & Growth
‘Camilla’ develops upright stems topped with increasingly large foliage as it matures. Repot when noticeably root-bound, moving up only slightly in pot size and using a light, well-draining houseplant mix. Older plants may gradually develop a more cane-like appearance as lower leaves naturally age and drop.
Pet Safety
Dieffenbachia ‘Camilla’ is not considered pet safe. Its sap contains calcium oxalate crystals and can cause significant irritation if chewed or ingested, so keep it safely out of reach of cats, dogs and other pets. If you suspect your pet has eaten part of the plant, contact your vet for advice.
A NOTE FROM US
Camilla is a good introduction to big tropical foliage without immediately surrendering half the living room. Give it bright indirect light to keep those creamy centres looking their best, and let the top of the soil begin drying before watering again. One important bit: keep this one away from curious pets and little plant-nibblers.
