Fresh, bright and bursting with colour, Caladium ‘Lemon Blush’ has beautiful heart-shaped foliage washed in soft lemon-lime green with vivid raspberry-pink centres and veins.

Each leaf has its own slightly different splash of colour, giving the whole plant a wonderfully lively, almost hand-painted appearance. With its delicate-looking foliage held above slender stems, ‘Lemon Blush’ brings instant tropical colour to a bright indoor spot.

Caladiums also have a natural dormant period, so don't be alarmed if the foliage begins to die back as the seasons change. It's all part of their normal growing cycle, with the tuber resting before growth begins again.

OUR THOUGHTS

The colours on ‘Lemon Blush’ are ridiculous in the best possible way. Fresh lemon-lime foliage meets a burst of raspberry through the centre of each leaf, and no two seem to paint themselves quite the same way. It's bright, tropical and completely capable of stealing attention from plants three times its size.

GROW WITH CONFIDENCE

Looking After Your Plant

Watering

During active growth, keep the growing medium lightly and consistently moist without allowing it to become waterlogged. Water thoroughly when the upper layer begins to dry and allow excess water to drain away. As the plant enters dormancy and the foliage begins to die back, gradually reduce watering and keep the resting tuber much drier.

Light

Give ‘Lemon Blush’ plenty of bright, indirect light to encourage strong growth and maintain its beautiful green and raspberry colouring. Avoid prolonged harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch its thin, delicate leaves.

Humidity & Temperature

‘Lemon Blush’ enjoys warm conditions and medium to high humidity. Keep it away from cold draughts and sudden temperature changes, and avoid placing it directly beside radiators. Good humidity helps support its delicate foliage, but good airflow is important too.

Feeding

Feed lightly with a balanced houseplant fertiliser around once a month while ‘Lemon Blush’ is actively producing foliage, following the manufacturer's instructions. Stop feeding when growth slows or the plant begins entering dormancy. Resume once fresh growth appears.

Repotting & Growth

Caladium ‘Lemon Blush’ grows from an underground tuber and produces its colourful foliage during its active growing season. Repot when needed into a light, airy and well-draining mix, using a pot with good drainage. Caladiums naturally enter dormancy, when the leaves may yellow and die back. During this resting period, reduce watering significantly and allow the tuber to rest until new growth begins.

Pet Safety

Caladium ‘Lemon Blush’ is not considered pet safe and should be kept out of reach of cats, dogs and other pets that may chew the foliage. If you suspect your pet has eaten part of the plant, contact your vet for advice.

A NOTE FROM US

Don't panic when this one decides it's bedtime. Caladiums naturally go through a dormant period, so foliage dying back doesn't necessarily mean you've lost your plant. While it's growing, give ‘Lemon Blush’ warmth, good humidity, bright indirect light and lightly moist soil. When it starts winding down, ease off the watering and let the tuber have its well-earned nap.
