Striking, textural and absolutely covered in detail, this silver-patterned Rex Begonia from the ‘Jungle Wonder’ collection is all about extraordinary foliage.
Its elongated, pointed leaves combine deep green with generous splashes and markings of shimmering silver, finished with darker burgundy-red tones around the edges and beneath the foliage. Compact but packed with character, every angle reveals something slightly different.

OUR THOUGHTS
It's the contrast that got us with this one. Deep green leaves are scattered with incredible silver markings, while flashes of burgundy-red appear around the edges and underneath. No official cultivar name came with this little mystery, but frankly, the foliage wasn't prepared to let that stop it from showing off.

Looking After Your Plant
Watering
Allow the upper layer of the growing medium to begin drying before watering thoroughly, then allow all excess water to drain away. Aim for lightly moist rather than constantly wet soil and avoid leaving the pot standing in water. Where possible, water the growing medium rather than repeatedly wetting the foliage.
Light
Give this Rex Begonia plenty of bright, indirect light to support healthy growth and maintain the beautiful contrast between its silver and darker foliage. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can scorch or damage the leaves.
Humidity & Temperature
Rex Begonias appreciate medium to high humidity, but good airflow is important. Avoid regularly misting or leaving the textured foliage wet for prolonged periods. Keep the plant comfortably warm and away from cold draughts, hot radiators and sudden temperature changes.
Feeding
Feed with a balanced houseplant fertiliser around once a month during active growth in spring and summer, following the manufacturer's instructions. Reduce feeding during autumn and winter when growth naturally slows.
Repotting & Growth
Rex Begonias have a compact, bushy growth habit and are grown primarily for their spectacular foliage. Repot when noticeably root-bound, moving up only slightly in pot size and using a light, well-draining mix that still retains some moisture. Remove damaged or tired leaves at the base when needed to encourage fresh growth and keep the plant looking its best.

Rex Begonias are not considered pet safe and should be kept out of reach of cats, dogs and other pets that may chew the plant. If you suspect your pet has eaten part of the plant, contact your vet for advice.
