OUR THOUGHTS
There's no need to wait for flowers when the leaves are already doing this much work. Jungle Red combines lush green foliage with brilliant red and pink tones, giving it a warm, tropical look while staying compact enough to fit into all sorts of spaces. We especially love that all that colour comes wrapped up in a surprisingly easy-going plant.
GROW WITH CONFIDENCE
Looking After Your Plant
Watering
Allow the top few centimetres of the growing medium to dry before watering thoroughly, then let all excess water drain away. Avoid keeping the roots constantly wet or leaving the pot standing in water. Reduce watering during cooler months when growth slows.
Light
Bright, indirect light is ideal for healthy growth and maintaining Jungle Red's colourful foliage. It can tolerate softer light, although growth may slow and its colouring may become less vibrant. Avoid prolonged harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Humidity & Temperature
Jungle Red appreciates average to moderately high household humidity and warm, stable conditions. Additional humidity can support healthy foliage, but avoid keeping the leaves constantly wet. Keep it away from cold draughts, radiators and sudden temperature changes.
Feeding
Feed with a balanced houseplant fertiliser around once a month during active growth in spring and summer, following the manufacturer's instructions. Reduce feeding during autumn and winter when growth naturally slows.
Repotting & Growth
Jungle Red has a naturally compact, bushy growth habit. Repot when noticeably root-bound, moving up only slightly in pot size and using a light, well-draining houseplant mix. Remove older or damaged leaves at the base when needed to keep the plant looking its best.
Pet Safety
Aglaonema ‘Jungle Red’ is not considered pet safe and should be kept out of reach of cats, dogs and other pets that may chew the foliage. If you suspect your pet has eaten part of the plant, contact your vet for advice.
A NOTE FROM US
Jungle Red is brilliant if you want colour without signing yourself up for a demanding plant. Give it a lovely bright spot away from harsh direct sun, let the soil dry a little between drinks and it'll reward you with that gorgeous red and green foliage.
